“my message to early career academics and other colleagues who are going through this is, if you see a problem, don’t dive into it straight away. Look back, understand where the clinical problem is and approach it with your own mind. Don’t be influenced by the narratives because history has taught us that narratives around medicine and science may well be very wrong”
